|2019 NAEBA Slate for Vote|
After careful consideration to all the candidates and their qualifications, the 2018 Nominations committee unanimously recommends the following slate for vote by the general membership on January 5th as follows:
President Elect: Richard Harty, The Harty Realty Group, Highland Park, IL
I joined NAEBA in 2010 after making a career adjustment and taking time to update my real estate credentials. The decision to become an EBA was easy, as I had built a residential construction company based on an “open book” philosophy. Working with clients in a transparent manner, created an agency relationship not found with most general contractors. After joining NAEBA, I have volunteered on a variety of committees and in 2012 was asked to be on the slate of candidates for the open seat on the board of directors. I was elected to serve as the director for Region 3. The position allowed me to communicate with members throughout the Midwest, working as a liaison between the Executive Director and individual member / brokers. Since that time, I have worked in other positions on the NAEBA board and served as secretary of the NRSI board. A strong level of interpersonal and communication skills developed throughout my career will be invaluable in my role. I am not involved with other real estate organizations, but did receive my LEED-AP designation, which required intensive exam preparation.
Where would you like to see NAEBA in five years? What does success look like to you?
Secretary: Jennifer L. Fabiano, Exclusive Arizona Buyers Agents, Scottsdale, AZ
As a licensed Realtor® for 17 years, Jennifer uses her years of experience in real estate, marketing, and public relations as a strong base for a unique approach that unites buyers and sellers for optimum results. She’s passionate about providing buyers with the personalized service they deserve and the attention to every detail they require to provide a superior home buying experience. Jennifer supports her community through her leadership involvement with the Scottsdale City Council’s Neighborhood Advisory Commission, HOA Boards, and volunteering with St. Mary’s Food Bank, Packages from Home, St. Vincent de Paul, and many others. She has been a member of NAEBA since founding her buyer’s brokerage and will bring strong marketing, communication, and leadership skills to the NAEBA Board, if elected. She is a member of AAR, NAR, SAAR, WCR, ARA, REBAC, and has earned the SRES designation.
Where would you like to see NAEBA in five years? What does success look like to you? I would like to see NAEBA continue to grow and expand its membership; continue to offer annual conferences that are educational and well attended; evolve its logo and website to offer meaningful support and information to members and consumers alike. Success, to me, is the result of hard work, dedication, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
Treasurer: Richard Machado, Fidelis, The Buyer's Agent, Ashland, MA
Richard Machado founded Hawthorn Commercial Investments - The Buyer’s Agent in 1986. A commercial buyer agency firm which later evolved into Fidelis, The Buyer’s Agent, a commercial and residential agency. The firm has been practicing exclusive buyer agency in the Greater New Bedford area since 1990. Richard was appointed by Governor William Weld to the Massachusetts Real Estate Review Board in 1991, the youngest person ever to hold that prestigious position. He continued to serve with distinction in that paid consultancy through the year 2000. The real estate review board is an independent civilian oversight of the eminent domain takings done by the state of Massachusetts and is/has been responsible for reviewing all land takings in excess of $100,000 associated with the Central Artery/Tunnel project, the largest construction project in U.S. history. A strong personal belief of Richard’s has been in fostering the education of our nation’s youth. To that end, he has served with distinction as a director of Junior Achievement of Southeastern Massachusetts since 1991. In 1996, he was elected Chairman of the Board of that organization in recognition of his achievements and continued to serve in that position through 1997. Where would you like to see NAEBA in five years? What does success look like to you? I’d love to see a tiered membership where the members don’t have to give up what they have.
Director of Membership: Victoria Ray Henderson, Buyer's Edge Co., Inc., Silver Spring, MD
I joined Buyer’s Edge in 2010 after a 20+ career in radio broadcasting. My husband and I bought our home with Buyer’s Edge over twenty years ago, so we knew the value of working with an Exclusive Buyer Brokerage. I became a licensed Realtor and then a Broker in Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. My background in broadcasting will be useful in my role as Membership Director. I look forward to working with my fellow Board members as we provide our NAEBA members with the support they need to have success. Victoria has earned the Military Relocation Professional designation and works with Veterans, Military personnel, and their families to relocate to the Greater Washington D.C. area.
Where would you like to see NAEBA in five years? What does success look like to you? More in the mainstream with members being interviewed by major newspapers and publications.
Director of Programs & Education: Lora Cusumano, CEBA-M, Lux House Hunters-Exclusive Buyers Agents, Glen Cove, NY
I have been a member of NAEBA for approximately 10 years. I spent several years on the NAEBA Website Committee and in 2017, was appointed to the Board as the Director of Programs and Education. This position was natural for me, as I love our organization and spent a lot time in education. I’d like to see NAEBA grow, especially in the area of Education, since I have many Buyer Agent related designations including our CEBA-M, was inducted into the REBAC Hall of Fame in 2014, and received my master’s degree in Real Estate from Realtor 2017. I have been a chairperson or co-chairperson to several committees in the past for my local and state boards and ran several committees this past year for NAEBA. I have stepped back on my other volunteer positions to give the necessary attention NAEBA deserves to flourish in the future. I look forward to serving should I get re-elected at this election!
